Eines der langwierigeren Projekte (weil immer was anderes dazwischen kommt) ist die U.S.S. DEFIANT.
Der Bau selbst ist nicht das Problem sondern die, für ein Sternenflottenschiff, aufwendige Bemalung. Nachdem man mir bei Youtube die Frage stellte ob ich bei der ursprünglichen Bemalung auf Speed war (NEIN!!!) habe ich mich entschieden das ganze nochmal neu aufzuziehen. Also Lack runter, die Beleuchtung überprüft und ein paar neue Goodies hinzugefügt.
Nun kommt nach und nach wieder ein wenig Farbe ins Spiel, ich hoffe dieses Mal besser ;-)

One of the more time intensive projects is the U.S.S. DEFIANT.
The building itself is not tha big problem but the, for a starfleet vessel,  quite extensive paintjob. After I was asked on youtube if I was on acid while painting the ship (NO!!!) I decided to give the little ship a complete overhaul. So down with the old paint, correcting the lighting and installing some extra feaures. Now I am on the new painting and this time it works out ;-)

Ich habe die Grundlackierung in der neuen Version soweit abgeschlossen und mich fleißig dem Weathering, also dem optischen Altern des Schiffes gewidmet. Zwar sind Starfleet-Schiffe in der Regel sehr sauber und haben auch kaum Kontakt mit atmosphärischen Einflüssen die die Hülle angreifen könnten, aber die Defiant hat seit je her ziemlich viel einstecken müssen, Schlachten, Plasmastürme und mehr und somit ist das Weathering etwas extremer ausgefallen als normal.

I finished the gros of the main paintjob and started the weathering, the optical aging, of the ship. Of course starfleet-vessels normaly are very clean and have almost no contact to atmospherical influences which could attack the hull, but the DEFIANT had to live through quite a collection of battles and plasmastorms, so the weathering is a bit heavier than normal.
